I fell in love with ...

Sandra Sui's pictures. I found her art work when I was just randomly looking through blogs. I admire her pictures of beautiful women combined with fashion. Sandra is a fashion illustrator, living in Barcelona. It is worth to check out her pieces on her website.

Here are some of them:

All pictures are from her website.

From Friday To Sunday

My Mum's parcel finally arrived! It made me the happiest person alive! We also had a snapper for dinner, which was quite delicious! The head was a little scary though!
On Saturday we had a reunion with London people. It was so good to see our former flatmates again! The weekend was quiet, no baking, no adventures in Sydney etc. My mid semester break is coming up and I have too much stuff to do for school! I want to check out the Lindt Café in the city - hopefully next weekend!
I hope you all had a relaxing and nice weekend!

Wednesday Love

Here is another Wednesday Love!

I have to admit I have been shopping the last week but I got a lot of new favorites! The first one is my new OPI nail polish in "Big Hair...Big Nails". It is a really nice warm colour and just gets me into summer mood. I am very particular when it comes to nailpolish colour and it actually took me some time to find the perfect shade. Anyways, I am quite happy with it!

The next one is my new watch - I finally got the size adjusted to my wrist. My wrist is too small for any watch, which is quite annoying! The watch is really big, but I was looking for an oversized one. Michael Kors has really nice watches this season, you should check it out!

The last thing are chocolate covered Pretzels by Aldi. O.M.G. I am obsessed with them at the moment, but Ben won't buy me more than one pack per week. I love chocolate on everything, and having it on pretzels is just the most delicious taste ever. For me it's not a snack, I could finish a whole pack in probably under 15 minutes if Ben wouldn't take it off me. The only bad side about it is that I have only found them at Aldi so far and there are only a few Aldi's in the whole of Sydney :/

Do you know Old Spice? If not it's about time....

You probably know about it, everyone does... It is one of the most successful advertising campaigns world wide. It's so good, you have to watch it.

An Update...

My work outs are going well, my "no chocolates diet" not so well. I just can't live without chocolate - I enjoy it too much! However, this week I joined a gym that is opening in two weeks. The membership was half price - such a good deal! I am quite excited for the opening! I'll be there every morning before uni! (maybe not...)
I am also waiting for my new Michael Kors watch and my mum's parcel. Why does it take so long until packages arrive?! Australia is so far away from everything! I also got a few fashion pieces for spring, I can't wait to wear them! It won't be this weekend as I am stuck at home with huge assignments to write. It's quite depressing to realise that you don't have a day off to relax - not even on the weekend. My sister is sending me pictures of my little niece to cheer me up and keep me going. She's so kind. I haven't met my little niece as she was born when I was already here in Australia! I am going to be her godmother and I am so terribly excited to meet her in November! Should I have time on Saturday I'll check out a fashion market in Paddington - I found this ad in a magazine and it looks quite inviting!

Hence, have a good weekend and enjoy some time with your beloved ones!

Saltine Cracker Toffees

I love trying new things and I found this recipe last week, so I thought I am going to share it with you here! I made these Saltine Cracker Toffees which appear to be a nice alternative to bought chocolates. I made a small pan and it was enough for me and Ben to serve for a week. Since my pan was quite small I have to say that they turned out quite sweet, the next time I will use more crackers. It was a bit messy to make them, and mine don't look as nice as hers, but they are still delicious.

Wednesday Love

Here's some things I am very happy with for this week!
I found this candle in the city while I was looking for some shoes. It is the best scented candle I have ever had. The scent is black cherry plum.

Right now I have got a lot of work to do for university. This sticky note To Do List is so useful. It helps me to stay organised especially in such a stressful time. I just stick it to my laptop or my desk and it reminds me what else I have to do this week.

The cutest shop ever just closed last week *whimper*. I used to go there once a week and look for new cute stuff or just talk to the shop owner. It was the girliest store I have ever seen, most of the items were vintage or just looked old. They had the nicest dinnerware, clothes and candles. Everything was half price so I went a little nuts in there. I bought this tray which I am using now for my perfumes and creams. I love the girly vintage look.

City 2 Surf Sunday

Every year there's the City 2 Surf marathon. It starts in the city and goes all the way over to the East to finish in Bondi Beach. 85,000 people took part this year which makes it the world's largest run. No, Ben and I didn't run, but we headed to the beach to watch some people finish their run. It was manic, I have never seen so many people in Bondi! You could see white tents all over the beach, where people could have lunch, drinks or even a massage. Most of the runners enjoyed a cool beer in the pubs. Next year I will definitely run, that's why I am already training, right?!

In the afternoon I convinced Ben to have a work out with me and in the evening we went to a Greek restaurant close to the beach. Bondi was Party-Town and so we decided to have a drink at a bar afterwards. We ended up at the Beach Rd Hotel where we met up with my friend Sydney. I was so surprised! That place was just like the Walkabout in Shepherds Bush, London! Maybe not as dirty, but the same vibe. We may have found a place that we will go to every Sunday afternoon!

Hugo's Lounge

Last Friday we decided to go out for drinks. I had heard of Hugo's Lounge before and since I have never been out in Kings Cross we thought we'll give it a try. Scared we might pay $20 entry we made our way there early. And surprise, we got in for free. It was a good night, we had a good dance and chat with Ben's friends and after they went home we headed on to another club. The good thing is that Ben and I can go out just us two and we have the best night. We went to another club in Kings Cross, unfortunately I have forgotten the name, but we stayed til 2 and partied hard. That's why we needed a quiet night in on Saturday.

Summer, take your time - I am not ready yet!

Summer is coming up and since I am living in Bondi there's a tiny bit pressure on me to get a beach body! Maybe the people living in Bondi inspired me to start my Fit for Summer Work out. Bondi people love working out, and I really mean LOVE! They are working out 24-7, at any time of the day, any day! However, I need to get fit so I can lie on the beach without feeling self conscious. This is the third day of my workout and my butt is killing me plus I am craving chocolate and most of all - a burger! I do have to say though that I feel better overall after working out. I fall asleep easier and I just feel healthier. I hope I can stick to the program for at least 2 months, that would be my goal! Fingers crossed! I'll keep you updated on my work out progress!

Beauty Picks

These 3 products need a tribute, because they are my all time favorites.
I have used them for years and they have never disappointed me. First of all Chanel Innocence. It is the best make up I ever had, it gives you coverage and doesn't make your skin look shiny (which is one of the most annoying aspect of some others). Unfortunately I just got to know that it is discontinued, so I tried to get hold of an additional bottle. It is not one of the cheapest, but it is definitely worth it!
Secondly: Lancome Juicy Tubes. I have used this lipgloss for more than 2 years and I love the fact that it looks amazing on your lips and actually tastes like the displayed color. And at last: Benefit Girl meets Pearl. It is a pearl luminizer in a golden pink color that you can put onto cheeks or eyelids or simply onto every area that you want to "highlight".

Food, Jeans and Fashion Markets

Ben and I went to Bondi Markets this weekend. The food market was pretty fun, as they give you free samples at almost every stall. We decided to go there next weekend again with an empty stomach so we can try even more food. The atmosphere was great: lots of people, sunny weather, musicians and freebies.

After that I went to shop for jeans, poor Ben, I couldn't decide which pair to take and I think I was trying them on for ages. I ended up buying both pairs. Oh well, sometimes you just have to have things. I got a good tip from the store assistant, he told me to put the jeans into the freezer to avoid washing them. I haven't heard about that before! I got J Brand jeans since it is a really good brand for skinny jeans. J Brand offers lots of different cuts and styles so they have jeans for every body shape. They also have all the bright colors right now, which I love. I chose red pair since I have a lot of tops that will work with them.

This morning I surprised Ben with Popovers and strawberry butter for breakfast. I got up early and baked them. Such a good start into the day! Afterwards we went to the fashion market. There's so many people out and about, I am glad we decided to live in Bondi. We saw a woman with her cat on a leash. That was quite weird. I took a picture of it, have a look and see how happy the cat was!

I also went out with my friends Sydney and Sara. It was a really fun night at a Penthouse Party in Bondi Beach. I am quite excited for a lot more fun nights with the girls!

Real Men of Genius

I love my advertising class. At the beginning of every class my teacher always shows successful commercials. I have to share this with you as I think it is hilarious. Bud Light produced these ads with the singer of the famous Rocky song "Eye of the Tiger". They were super successful in Australia and Bud Light actually produced 200 of these broadcast on TV and radio. Here is one of my favourites:

Mr. Way Too Much Cologne Wearer

This cake...

Since we have moved into our new apartment I haven't baked at all and after Ben telling me lots of times that he would like to take a piece of cake to work I decided to make something. I haven't bought a big baking form yet, so I made my mum's marble cake in the one that I had from before. Silly me didn't think that it was way too much dough for that form and after I put the cake in the oven the disaster began.
The dough started to rise and drop off the form immediately. I couldn't do anything about it. It was horrible! The oven was hot, the dough dripping everywhere and the gutter wouldn't move. The form itself was a rubber form and so sloppy that I couldn't take it out itself. My only thought was my mum, so I called her and, thank god, she could help me of course. My mum just knows how to fix things! It took me in fact 2 hours (without the baking time) to bake the cake and even though I had it in the oven before, it turned out to be delicious! For the future I know that I will only make half the amount of dough. It was the first time I tried this recipe and I am surprised how good the cake is, so if you are interested just write me a message and I will send you the recipe.

Friday Night

Since we had a lot to do on Saturday Ben and I only went out for dinner and a few drinks. We went to our favourite little Café in Bondi. We didn't regret our decision, they just got a new chef and this guy is seriously one of the best chefs ever! I had a fish in coconut chili sauce with potatoes and Ben just went for the good old steak. It was a good start into a busy weekend!

Relaxing Sunday

After all the moving in stress yesterday we decided that we need to relax on the beach for a while. The weather was perfect and we couldn't have enjoyed more. I was quite excited to hear that we might get 24 degrees on Thursday, that would be one of the warmest winter days I have ever experienced in my life! Everyone in Bondi is working out, even on a Sunday! It actually brings me in the mood to go for a run. I should start my work outs soon to get fit for summer. You have to be fit if you are living in Bondi, everyone is just so sporty. I wonder if I am motivated tomorrow morning. Probably not.

In the evening we tried to organise our flat a little. I built all our new furniture while Ben cooked the dinner. It was like a change of roles, me working with tools, Ben working with a wooden spoon.
